About Spotlight Lessons
Spotlight School of Speech and Drama was formed in 2009 and specialises in providing speech, drama, oral communication and business focused sessions for people in the Manchester area.
Our company is not a franchise. We provide a very personal teaching service which is tailored to suit individual needs.
We provide traditional children's drama lessons as well as professional business coaching sessions on a variety of communication topics.
Adults take sessions to learn about speech making, interview preparation and many aspects of confident speaking for work, for pleasure and for life. We offer one to one private sessions at our dedicated studio in Sale and we can visit clients at their own locations during the workiing week by arrangement.
Children benefit from a full calendar of events at Spotlight Drama including an annual showcase at The Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, an awards & presentation evening and speech & drama festival competitions.
Spotlight is regularly approached by casting agents and television programmes to take part in productions. In 2012 we were the voices and faces of the CBBC Christmas choir and in 2013 we have attended auditions and interviews for other exciting projects. All children attending group and private lessons are considered for any opportunities that come our way.
Professional Qualifications
With links to The University of West London and The London College of Music, students and clients can take exams in speech and drama, oral communication and other performing arts and professional subjects.
There are three step exams (1,2 & 3) after which candidates move onto graded exams which run through a progressive system of eight levels. Graded exams generate motivation and reward achievement and the levels are recognised internationally.
In the UK, the LCM graded exams are accredited by Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA at Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the National Qualifications Framework, and UCAS points are awarded for higher grades. We also teach LAMDA syllabus too.
